Anna J. (Dively) Holland, 95, of York, passed away at the Country Meadows Retirement Community on June 22, 2025. Born November 15, 1929, in Sproul, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Bessie (Finnegan) Dively. Anna was the loving wife of Merle E. Holland Sr., with whom she shared 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2019.
Anna lived a life rooted in love, purpose, and family. Her greatest goal—one she wholeheartedly achieved—was to be a devoted wife, a nurturing mother and mother-in-law, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother.

She spent her early years working on the family farm, where she developed a lifelong passion for gardening. That love continued into adulthood, including her involvement in a gardening club as well as a group known as Farm Women. Anna and her husband made their home in Dallastown for nearly 50 years. She worked for Sylvania Electric before running her own cleaning business, which she faithfully operated well into her 90s. While being self-employed, she also held a position with Caterpillar for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia J. Holland-Toftness and her husband Bartlett of Wallingford, CT; her son, Merle E. Holland Jr. and his wife MaryAnn of Townsend, DE; her grandsons, Michael Toftness and his wife Megan of Northford, CT, and William Toftness and his wife Naomi of Harwinton, CT; and her great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Everett Toftness. Anna is also survived by her sister, Betty Roudabush.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and seven siblings.

A funeral service to honor Anna's life will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 11:00 A.M. at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 West Main Street, Dallastown PA. A viewing and time to share memories will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service.
