Anna Mae "Annie" Richard, 85 of Dallastown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23rd at Rest Haven Rehabilitation in York.

She was born October 4, 1939, to the late Charles and Dorothy Martin.  She was a 1957 graduate of York Catholic High school and was employed by Gichner Shelter Systems for many years.

Annie married the love of her life, Carl Richard, on April 19th, 1958, and they were happily wedded for 62 years before his death in 2020. They had an incredibly fun relationship, and were the perfect example of what a healthy, happy marriage looked like, the epitome of soulmates.

A faithful parishioner at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dallastown, PA, Annie attended church services every Sunday until she was no longer physically able to, but even then, she listened in online.

Annie was the matriarch of her family and took great pride in her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. One of her all-time favorite hobbies was re-purposing antique storage trunks, to which each of her children and grandchildren received on very special occasions. Annie loved spending time at her beloved cabin in McVeytown, where her family will always remember her for the nights she danced and sang around the fire. She was also quite the dog lover and could be seen on many occasions with multiple pups around her lap as she divvied out treats.

Annie was a beam of light and will always be remembered for her quick wit and a sassy personality, that stuck with her up until the very end.

Annie is survived by 3 children: Kathy S. Zellers and her husband. Anton of State College, Beth E. Frank and her husband, Jeff of Niarada, MT, and Carl L. Richard, Jr. of Dallastown; 5 grandchildren; Chris (Rachel), Matthew (Juanita), Suzie (Colin), Becky (Brandon) and Steven (Leslie); 4 great-grandchildren: Jasper, Micah, Evan and Nash; 2 siblings: Bernadette Bambling and Rodney Martin, as well as many loving nieces and nephews whom she cared for very much.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Lesa A. Schaefer, and 9 siblings.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Annies's life will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, located at 251 E. Main Street, Dallastown PA. There will be visitation from 10-11am, and a Funeral Mass will follow by interment at Dallastown Union Cemetery.
