Obituary

Barbara Ann (Taccino) Izat, 83, of York, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Celebration Villa of York.

She was the loving wife of Thomas William Izat, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Cumberland, Maryland, on July 7, 1942, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edmund J. Taccino Sr. and Yolanda T. (DelSignore) Taccino.

Barbara dedicated much of her professional life to public service, working for the State of Maryland, where she retired as an auditor. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She found great joy in horseback riding, spending time outdoors, and traveling.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her loving children: her daughter, Donna Hull and her husband Mark; and her son, David Izat and his wife Lynn. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughter, Becky Hull and her husband Peter Harrison. Barbara is further survived by her brothers, John Taccino, Michael Taccino, Jim Taccino, and William Taccino.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edmund Taccino, Jr. and Thomas Taccino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 9:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 110 State Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
