Barry L. Ruppert, 76, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully at the Gardens at Gettysburg on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Sylvia A. (Jewell) Ruppert.

Mr. Ruppert was born in York County of January 5, 1947 and was the son of the late Harvey and Frances (Wise) Ruppert.

Barry was a dedicated truck driver for most of his life and drove truck for Swope Salvage and Recycling for over 29 years. He was an avid racing fan, especially sprint cars and was the rig driver for Floyd Swope Racing. He was a wonderful grandfather who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He also loved his dogs, Peanut and Gracie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children, Doug Ruppert, Daphne Ford, Denise Swope, Paul Ford, Dean Ruppert and Darlisa Edgecomb. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his sister, Nancy Burgard. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonny Lee Ruppert.

A service to honor Barry's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 10th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Zach Galemore  officiating.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
