Betty Kohler of Dallastown on 4 April 2022 passed away peacefully while in residence at Country Meadows at Leader Heights at the age of 98 years.
Betty was born in Dallastown to the late John H. Clouser and Phoebe S. Clouser (née Eberly). She graduated from Dallastown High School, class of 1941. After graduating from the Thompson Business School in York, she worked as a secretary at the former Borg Warner Corporation. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard ("Dick") Kohler with whom she had been married for 69 years.
Betty is remembered for her independent spirit, conviviality, and sense of humor. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Dallastown (1935–present); the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 605, Dallastown; the Dallastown Golden Agers; and the Order of the Eastern Star, Triangle Chapter No. 483, Shrewsbury, PA. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, ballroom dancing, and travelling with her husband from Florida through New England and into eastern Canada.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Diane and husband Richard. She is survived by her brother, John C. Clouser of Tarpon Springs, FL, her son, David and his wife Debra of Monrovia, MD, and her son-in-law, David Miller of York. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and their spouses and partners: Courtney Fauth and her husband Joshua, Whitney Miller and her husband Matthew, Dustyn Miller and his wife Christy, Katharine Kohler and her partner Donovan Sweet, Sarah Joyce and her husband Austin, and Richard Kohler. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren: Cameron Fauth; Avery, Palmer, Wyatt, and Alexandra Miller; Aoife Joyce; Benjamin Sweet; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Betty's family would like to thank the staff of Country Meadows at Leader Heights and Lifesong Hospice and Palliative Care who were very helpful and kind in providing care for her.
A funeral service to honor Betty's life will be held on Monday, April 11 at 1:00PM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 East Main St., Dallastown, with Rev. Stephany Sechrist officiating, followed by a graveside service at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. A viewing will precede the service at 12 noon. The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 East Main Street, Dallastown, PA 17313.
