Betty Jo (Jacobs) Sammons, 82, of Red Lion, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at YorkView Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert B. Sammons.

Born on November 13, 1943, in Lumberton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Starling and Christine Jacobs.

Betty dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a nursing assistant in various nursing homes throughout her career. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and reading.

She is survived by her three children, Andrew B. Sammons and his wife, Pamela, Delmar J. Sammons and his wife, Tracy, and Laquata L. Strevig and her husband, Thomas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four siblings.

A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, November 2, 2026, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Kendall Potter officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
