Betty A. (Mitzel) Swoards, 91, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital on Saturday, September 16, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Dallas J. Swoards.

Mrs. Swoards was born in York on February 12, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Norman and Lillian (Haugh) Mitzel.

She is survived by her daughter, Oma M. Strayer and her husband Lynus; granddaughters, Sherry Arnold and her husband Chad and Colleen Strayer and her fiancé John Sinclair. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, MacKenzie Arnold and a brother, Lloyd Mitzel.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jessie Swoards and siblings, Denny Mitzel, Llewellyn Mitzel, Mervin Mitzel, Paul Mitzel, Florence Sweitzer and Anna Miller.

A graveside service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26th  at Salem Community Cemetery.
