Carl E. Lentz, 95 of York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, at the Autumn House West of York. He was the loving husband of the late Ruth J. (Poff) Lentz with whom he spent 68 loving years of marriage with until her passing earlier this year.
Mr. Lentz was born September 21st, 1929, in York, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Reuben E. and Dora L. (Miller) Lentz.
Carl proudly Served in the United States Army during his early years and later worked in the data processing branch for the government where he earned his retirement. He was a meticulous record keeper and even kept a very detailed daily blog of his life, he was a blogger before blogging existed in the mainstream. Carl attended Spry Church and was an avid fan of baseball, his favorite team being the Baltimore Orioles. Known as a history buff, Carl was always broadening his knowledge on American history with his favorite subject being on the Civil War.
He is survived by his two children; son, Ronald Lentz of Florida, and daughter, Sharon Kenney and her husband Jeffrey of York, his granddaughter Michelle Youcheff and husband Scott, great- granddaughter Lily Youcheff, both of York, and his sister Eileen Kemper of Delaware as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services for Carl will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of your choosing.
