Carl L. Richard, Sr., 85 of Dallastown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Anna Mae (Martin) Richard.
Born September 23, 1935 in York, he was a son of the late Luther W., Sr. and Ethel (Bailey) Richard.
Carl is fondly remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman and dog lover. He also loved his cabin in McVeytown. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown, and a member of the Steel Worker's Union Local 2151. Carl also loved to fix anything (he was great at it), and loved to help people in any way he could. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Richard is survived by 3 children: Kathy S. Zellers and her husband, Anton of Pittsburgh, Beth E. Frank and her husband, Jeff of Niarada, MT and Carl L. Richard, Jr. of Dallastown; 5 grandchildren; Chris, Matt, Suzie, Becky and Steven; 3 great-grandchildren: Jasper, Micah and Evan; 2 siblings: Luther W. Richard, Jr. and his wife, Azeal and Phyllis Simpson, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lesa A. Schaefer and 3 siblings: June Kaufman, Delores Koller and Charles Richard.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Carl's life will be held at 11am on Monday, December 28 th at St. Joseph Catholic Church; 251 E. Main St.; Dallastown, PA 17313 with Fr. Mark Weiss officiating. Interment will follow in Dallastown Union Cemetery. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be at the Church on Monday from 10am until the start of the Mass.
