Carolyn E. (Eberly) Hardin, 73, of Dallastown, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at WellSpan York Hospital.

Born in York, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Preston Eberly and her beloved mother, Arlene M. Eberly. In addition to her mother, Carolyn is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Scott, Leslie Eberly, and Joan Eberly.

Carolyn was an accomplished journalist whose career spanned several decades. She began her journey at the York Dispatch, where she earned a reputation as a passionate reporter. Later, Carolyn relocated to the Midwest, where she worked as an editor. Throughout her career, she earned the admiration of colleagues and readers alike for her integrity and commitment to telling important stories. Carolyn will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, and dedication to family, work, and community.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow in St. John's Blymire's Cemetery. The family asks that flowers be sent to the funeral home for the services.
