Obituary

Charles A. Englar, 96, of York Township, passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home on Wednesday April 20 th . He was the beloved husband of the late Norma J. (Mummert). The couple were married for over 68 years, until her passing in 2017.

Mr. Englar was born in Woodbine, Pa., on August 25, 1924 and was the son of the late Charles Englar and Edna Seitz.

Bud proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was the founder and owner of Englar & Wire Body Shop. He was also a member of the Dallastown American Legion and attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Dallastown. Bud also enjoyed his cabin in Tioga county in the mountains.

He is survived by his daughter, Carla J. Englar of York, his brother Jesse Englar, sisters Sylvia Snyder and Darla Mell, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service to honor Bud's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 30 th at Austin Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 West Main St. Dallastown, Pa. with the Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home and will begin at 10:30 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
