Charles K. Orwig, 73, of Dover, passed away on Tuesday, March 2 ^nd , at Manor Care Health Services – Dallastown. He was the beloved husband of Donna Louise (Shirey) Orwig. The couple would have celebrated 54 years of marriage in April.

Mr. Orwig was born in York on June 10, 1947 and was the son of the late Charles A. and Johnnie (Correne) Orwig.

Charles proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a talented woodworker and worked for Market Tech and later Beck and Ness, retiring in 2013.

Charles loved boating and fishing. He enjoyed going on weekend picnics with his wife and going on bicycle rides with her. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandpa. He will be missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Krista L. Bare and her husband Roy, of Abbotstown, and Shona M. Orwig of Mt. Wolf. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, David B. Nickol, Jr., Cody A. Nickol, Courtney M. Senft, and Gordon Senft, III, as well as his brother, Ronnie Orwig and his wife Connie, of Millsboro, DE, sister-in-law, Susan Orwig, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Philip D. Orwig.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, with location, date and time forthcoming.
