Charles E. Paules, 92 of York passed away peacefully at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, March 26, 2022.  He was the beloved husband of 70 years to the late Jean E. (Snyder) Paules who passed away on April 12, 2021.

Born September 13, 1929 in West York, he was a son of the late Ervin, Sr. and Millie (Ness) Paules.

Charles honorably served in the U.S. Army from March 1, 1951 until February 28, 1953, attaining the rank of Corporal.  With the exception of his time spent in the military, he was employed by New York Wire Cloth Company from 1947 until 1966.  He then worked at Superior Mold Builders from 1966 until his retirement in 1998.  Charles loved to read the Bible and pray for his family and others, and especially cherished spending time with family.  He is fondly remembered as a very loving, caring person, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and neighbor.  Charles and his beloved wife, Jean were faithful members of Spry church for more than 60 years, where he served as an usher.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Misericordia Nursing & Rehab for the exceptional care and compassion they provided.

Mr. Paules is survived by 2 daughters, Linda E. Lehman and her husband, Edward of Seven Valleys, Beth E. Paules of Harrisburg; 3 granddaughters: Lisa Schaffer and her husband, Kyle of Dallastown, Bethany Lehman of York and Heather Allison and her husband, Michael of Dallastown; 5 great-grandchildren: McGraw Lehman and his wife, Allie of Texas, Chancellor Lehman of York, Taylor Schaffer of Dallastown, Tyler Schaffer of Dallastown and Harper Allison of Dallastown; his brother, Robert Paules, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Charles was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Ervin Paules, Jr., Elwood Paules, Frank Paules, Glenn Paules, Marvin Paules and Donald Paules, his sister, Betty Jackard and his infant grandson.

A celebration of life service will be held in private by the family.
