Charles "Chuck" Russo passed away peacefully at his residence in York, PA on August 18, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 28, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Lucy Martin Russo.

Chuck was predeceased by his brothers Frank F., Anthony M., Joseph R. and Paul L. Russo.  He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 65 years, Martha Rojahn Russo.  Also surviving are brother Louis R. Russo of Philadelphia, PA, daughter Charlotte Ellen and husband Chip Miller of York, PA; daughter Faith Russo of York, PA; son Jonathan Russo of York, PA; daughter Francine and husband Rick Jones of Dallastown, PA; and son Charles W. "Chick" Russo Jr. and wife Teresa of Altoona, FL; grandchildren Sarah and wife Skye Ackenbom of Palmyra, VA; Ryan and wife Sarah Miller of Providence, RI; Chick and wife Meghann Bellmon of Mableton, GA; Emily Miller of York, PA; Adrian and Kisha Bellmon of Towson, MD; Andrea Russo of Carlsbad, CA; Nicholas Jones of York, PA; Gabrielle Russo and Dayne Bailey of York, PA; great grandchildren Rosie Bellmon, Thomas Lee Bellmon and Devon Palmer from Philadelphia, PA; Aubrey Bellmon, Ace Bellmon and Tatyana Ray of Townson, MD; Vivian Bellmon of Mableton, GA; Kaydance and Brecklen Young of Grand Island, FL; and Emmitt Bailey of York, PA.

A memorial and burial service will be held at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at 250 Chestnut Hill Road in York on Wednesday, August 24 ^th at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery entrance by 10:45 AM.

Chuck was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University where he met his "sweetheart" Martha, excelled in sports and was the captain of the baseball team his senior year, leading the Nittany Lions to a 17-5 record.  He was also a member of the physical education student council and Phi Epsilon Kappa fraternity.  Following college, Chuck joined the family business, DeVal Aerodynamics Corporation in Philadelphia before relocating his family to Seven Valleys, PA to start a family farm and pursue a career as an educator of history and machine shop at York Vocational Technical School while his wife, Martha began a career as a physical educational teacher and guidance counselor at Dallastown High School.  Chuck was an avid golfer and recorded an amazing 9 holes-in-one.  In retirement, he and his beloved Martha, spent many enjoyable years in Leesburg, FL where they could golf year-round with friends and family living in the area.  Chuck was a true gentleman, a loyal friend to many, and his impact on them was profound.  He is remembered for his total devotion to family and the example that he set will resonate for generations to come.
