Obituary

Claire Ann (Rindgen) Nicholson, age 86, entered into rest on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by family and church friends.

Claire was born on May 10, 1940, in Parsons, Pennsylvania, the eldest daughter of Ann Sylvia (Thompson) Rindgen and Henry William Rindgen. She was the beloved wife of William Clair Nicholson for sixty-three wonderful years.

Claire retired from Genesis Eldercare as a Senior Nursing Home Administrator. Throughout her distinguished career, she also worked for Wilmac Corporation in various leadership positions, including Rehab Coordinator, Director of Nursing, and Assistant Administrator.

A dedicated registered nurse, Claire graduated from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from York College and her Master's Degree from Villanova University. Caring for geriatric patients and residents was the focus of her professional leadership. When the Nicholson family accepted an employment opportunity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Claire served as an Inservice Educator at King Abdullah University Hospital.

Claire enjoyed extensive travel, including African cruises, and was a devoted member of Spry Church.

Claire is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Kristina Lynn Nicholson of Barcelona, Spain; her sisters, Betty Rindgen Agati (Anthony) and Mary Ruth Rindgen Smith (Robert); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Spry Church, 50 School St., York, PA 17402, with Pastor Austin White officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. and continuing until the time of the service. Following the memorial service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon in the church's fellowship hall. Interment will be held privately in accordance with Claire's wishes.
