Clarence ("Click") E. Ludwig, 90 of Red Lion, peacefully entered into his eternal home on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Lois E. (Wagner) Ludwig. Click is preceded in death by his loving son, Craig who passed away last year.

He was born in Red Lion on August 12, 1931 and was the son of the late Earl and Viola (Sechrist) Ludwig. Click was a 1949 graduate of Red Lion Senior High School. He went into the Army in 1952, serving in the Korean Conflict for 16 months. He received a Bronze Star for bravery.

Aside from working a short time with his uncle, Russell Sechrist, Click was employed entirely at Fitz & Smith Construction doing grading and excavation until his retirement.  He would visit the "shop" regularly to stay connected with coworkers as well as getting advice on repairing tractor engines; Click enjoyed restoring Model "M" John Deere tractors. He also was a lifelong gardener and provided his family with many portions of vegetables and potatoes.

Click would note that he began attending Chapel Church in Red Lion when two weeks old in the Cradle Roll. He continued as an active member of Chapel Church and held many positions throughout the years, including Sunday School superintendent and teacher. Click was a member of the Senior Choir for most of his adult life and loved singing praises to his Lord.

Family was important to Click, involving picnics in the "Ludwig Picnic Grove", chicken and waffle suppers in their home, hunting trips to the family cabin in Sullivan County, outings to Top Sail Beach and one-on-one conversations. He also enjoyed traveling with Lois, and friends and family, visiting many states and national parks throughout the country . He and Lois were blessed with three children: Bradley Ludwig and wife, Gaye of Red Lion; the late Craig Ludwig and wife Donna of Red Lion; Christine (Ludwig) Feathers and husband, Robert of Spry. Eight grandchildren followed and gave Lois and Click many wonderful years of attending school, church and athletic events as well as numerous graduations: Brian Ludwig, April Ludwig, Valerie (Ludwig) Day and husband, Albert; Michele (Ludwig) Sanborn and husband Brooks; Danielle (Ludwig) Woo and husband Tyler; Anissa (Ludwig) Keesey and husband Ben; Amy (Feathers) McCarthy and husband, Kerry; and John Feathers. The Lord continued to bless their family with great-grandchildren beginning with Cambria Sanborn, Kai Sanborn, Grayden Keesey, Adelyn Keesey, Cedar Keesey, Lydia McCarthy and Tyler "TJ" Woo. In November of 2021, little LucyLynn was born into his family, bringing a smile to his face in these recent months. Click had numerous nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-laws, and cousins that completed his life and brought him much joy. Marriage brought him not only his precious Lois, but a family of Wagners' and Winekas' that embraced him as their own and he returned their love all the days of his life. Click is preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Bentzel.

Click lived in a great neighborhood! His neighbors are a very caring and supportive group of friends who Click enjoyed visiting.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 9 beginning at 9:00 AM at Chapel Church, 3050 Cape Horn Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356 followed by the service at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Stephany Sechrist officiating. Interment will follow in Heiland View Cemetery.

Click had a special interest in expansion plans that took place over the years at Chapel Church, drawing on his experience in excavating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Church Mortgage Fund, 3050 Chapel Church Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
