Obituary

Colleen E. (Harlacker) Flinchbaugh passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born in York, she was the daughter of the late Emma and Chester Harlacker. Colleen was the loving wife of the late Kermit A. Flinchbaugh until his passing in 2014.

She is survived by her son Thomas Flinchbaugh and her daughter Wendy Cunningham. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric Snyder, Barrett Snyder, Cody Cunningham, Keely Cunningham, and Christine Gingerich, as well as four great-grandchildren, Margaret Wagner, Alexander Snyder, Serena Snyder and Madeline Cunningham. She is also survived by her sister Shelva De Hoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter Linda Snyder and her siblings Charlotte Smith and Robert Harlacker.

Colleen retired from Dallastown School District in 1992 after many years of work in the Dallastown High School cafeteria.

In their earlier years Mom and Dad were the bowling team of Coke and Cook, and no… Mom was not the cook. Mom carried on their tradition of dining out. She could be found at Lions Pride for breakfast, dinner, or both whenever she could get there. Mom had a major sweet spot for chocolate, but Kit Kats were her favorite by far. Also a favorite was any type of gift involving a cardinal. She had gathered an extensive collection of cardinal knick knacks and sweatshirts. In her last ten years you could usually find her with a Word Find book in her hands and she was solving them up to a few weeks before her passing. Although her memory and her hearing were poor, she still surprised us sometimes with what she could do at 95. Mother spent her last seven years under the good care of Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A  memorial service for Colleen will be held at 11:00 AM on March 21, 2026, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
