Donald S. "Scott" Miller, 81, of Felton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, February 4 ^th . He was the beloved husband of Karen C. (Terrill) Miller. The couple were wed in 1959 and recently celebrated their 62 ^nd wedding anniversary.

Mr. Miller was born in York on January 8, 1941 and was the son of the late Donald J. and Muriel (Burns) Miller.

Scott attended St. John Lutheran Day School, grades 1 through 8, Hannah Penn Junior High and was a 1958 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He was the assistant to the director of public relations of PACE Resources, Inc., of York for several years, and owned a part-time photography business, later named Photography by Scott. His photography work was seen worldwide through magazines, calendars, books, cards and puzzles and was represented by the H. Armstrong Roberts Agency in Philadelphia and New York City. Scott was a member of Central Pennsylvania Industrial Photographers Association in the 1960s to 1980s and won numerous awards for his work in the association's competitions and exhibitions. He was also a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) until 2021.

Scott was a licensed pilot and an FFA certified ground instructor. He volunteered to train Explorer Scouts in an Aviation Explorer Post at York Airport. He was also a volunteer FAA Safety Counselor for several years.

In 1974, he joined the staff of the original York Sunday News, then a division of Lancaster Newspapers, as a reporter/photographer. He became copy editor when The York Dispatch purchased the York Sunday News in 1988, and was selected to help indoctrinate the news staff to new computer systems being installed, and he eventually developed and ran the "yorkdispatch.com" website for several years, then returned to copy editing until his retirement in 2010.

During the mid 1980s he also volunteered his time and became the production photographer for the former York Little Theater, now known as The Belmont Theater, archiving all the theater's shows, taking actor portraits and public relations photography until late 2021. He also became the production photographer for Dreamwrights Theater and for Theater Arts for Everyone (TAFE) theatrical group. He held those positions until 2021. Scott also volunteered photography services for the York County SPCA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Ann Greer, of Manchester, Lori K, Lewis, of Hanover, and Kimberly S. Nay, of Centennial, CO; two sons, Donald S. Miller, II, of Mt. Wolf and Gregory L. Miller, of Spring Grove. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqueline K, Sweitzer and Sandra Murray, both of York. He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith DiGiovanni.

A service to honor Scott's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 14 ^th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. Tab E. Cosgrove officiating.  A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Monday and will begin at 9:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
