Dakota James Himes (D.J.), 13 of Windsor Township, passed away on Saturday, September 4 ^th , after his courageous battle against DIPG. A type of brain tumor that primarily affects children.

He was the beloved son of Danika L. Bury, R.J. Himes and Beth A. Himes.

Dakota recently attended Larry J. Macaluso Elementary School and was looking forward to starting the seventh grade this September. He was passionate about playing soccer and played on the Eastern York Rec. team. He enjoyed playing video games, capturing Pokemon, streaming, and was an avid TikToker.  Dakota had a love for all cars that were fast and loud and liked going to car shows.  He was a jokester and a known prankster, often playing tricks on his family. He enjoyed playing with his brothers and sister and hanging out with his family. Dakota touched many lives and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Adam J. Sette, Destiny A. Black and Duke A. Black; crazy aunt Alyssa L. Dehoff; grandparents, Shari Dunlap and her husband Jimmy, Cyndy Kuhns and her husband Ed, Vincent D. Bury and Bradley and Sherry Zeigler. He is also survived by his large extended family and numerous friends.

A visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 9 ^th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, then again from 9:00 -11:00 AM on Sunday, September 12 ^th at Wyndridge Farm, 885 S. Pleasant Ave., Dallastown., with a memorial service starting promptly at 11:00 AM.
