Obituary

David H. Coeyman, Sr., 80, of Dallastown, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital on Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Carol L. (Waltemyer) Coeyman.

Mr. Coeyman was born in Felton on February 16, 1943 and was the son of the late Harold and Viola (Hengst) Coeyman.

David attended Dallastown High School and proudly served in the US Army as a specialist E-4.  He worked as a truck driver throughout his life, mainly for McCrory Stores and later retiring from Kinard Trucking, Inc. David was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown and he enjoyed listening to country music. David treasured every moment with his family. His grandsons were the joy of his life, and because of his love and guidance, they know the path to being strong, determined, and loyal young men.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, David H. Coeyman, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, of Dallastown and Kellie M. Jean and her husband Gregory, of Dallastown. He is also survived by his three grandsons, Chase Coeyman, Chance Coeyman, and Easton Jean; two brothers, Edward Coeyman and his wife Mary and Gary Coeyman, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Walton and Connie Miller, and Richard Coeyman.

A viewing will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown and then again at the funeral home on Friday, June 9th from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Patti Bream officaiting. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
