David Leo Dehoff, 82, of Springfield Township, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 12, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Julia M. (Reisinger) Dehoff, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on April 6, 1943, in Dallastown, David was the son of the late Leo C. Dehoff and Esther Mae (Smeltzer) Dehoff. A son of York County, David remained deeply connected to his community throughout his life.

David was a proud 1961 graduate of Dallastown Area High School and served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, and was grateful to be able to explore Europe on a soldier's salary while stationed in Germany.  Upon his return he was employed by Jedco Paper Corporation while studying to earn his business degree from York College of Pennsylvania in 1971.  He and his nine classmates were very proud to all graduate in the top ten of that inaugural four-year program.

He then became the owner and operator of Jedco, a business he built with dedication and pride from a small barn to a major warehouse. Upon selling the company, David embarked on what he affectionately called his "second career" — raising cattle and maintaining the buildings and land on his farm. It was there, among the fields and livestock, that he found deep satisfaction and joy, mostly when perched atop one of several John Deere tractors, which he kept in pristine condition.

David was a passionate sports fan and loved cheering on the L.A. Dodgers, Penn State wrestling and football, and the University of Virginia basketball and football teams. He was a member of the Dallastown American Legion Post #605, where he enjoyed fellowship and supported his fellow veterans.  David's hobbies included coin collecting and buying and restoring antique pocket watches, a love that was inspired by and shared with his father.

A devoted father, David is survived by his children: Andrew David Dehoff and his husband, Scot Wingenbach, and Mieke Mazur and her husband, Joel. He was a cherished grandfather to Ella, Julian, and Liza, who brought great happiness and pride into his life.

David is also survived by his sisters, Ann Simcik and Carolyn Schultz and her husband, John; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dixie Shue, and his brother, Bradley Dehoff.

A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, September 18th, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, officiated by the Rev. Patti Bream. Interment will be held at 12:00 P.M. at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Dallastown American Legion Post #605.

David's well-known kindness was matched by his generosity. He was a dedicated supporter of charitable organizations such as Wounded Warriors, American Battlefield Trust, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, York County Food Bank, and The Nature Conservancy, among others.
