David Lee Koller, 73, of Felton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, May 3 rd . He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Diane L. (Green) Koller.
Mr. Koller was born in York on April 27, 1948 and was the son of Evelyn (Butcher) Koller and the late Howard Koller.
Dave served in the US Navy aboard the USS Lexington. He was a drummer and performed with the Navy jazz band and marching band. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Dave began working for the Caterpillar Tractor Company, where he continued to work for 36 years as a certified machinist. He also drove bus for a short period of time. Dave was a "Jack of all trades," and had many skills. He loved working on machinery, cars, and motorcycles. He was a "motorhead", through and through. He also liked to do woodworking, a skill he learned when he was young and worked in his grandfather's woodworking business. He was also proud of the things he learned from his grandfather Butcher. Dave built several log homes for others and had the dream of finding a piece of land with a lake to build one for himself and his wife.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Annette Charlton and her husband Shannon; best buddy and grandson, Bailey Charlton; sister, Diane Roberts and husband Tim; brother, Donald Koller; brother-in-law, Philip Green and wife Brenda. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Karen Green and Joyce Berger and husband, Guy, as well as his nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his son, Vernon Koller.
Following cremation, a memorial service to honor Dave's life will be held on Saturday, May 15 th at 1:00 PM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday and will begin at Noon, until the start of the memorial service.
