Dawn L. (Irwin) Yanez, 81, of York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at her home.

Born on September 25, 1943, in York, Dawn was the beloved daughter of the late Luther and Gertrude (Tracy) Irwin. A proud graduate of Eastern High School's Class of 1961, Dawn was known for her determined spirit, steadfast faith, and generous heart.

Dawn dedicated her professional years to various roles, including serving as a security guard for Harley Davidson and Peach Bottom, and even running her own body shop for a time—an inspiring testament to her resilience and versatility. Above all, her true devotion was to her family and faith. A loving mother and grandmother, Dawn cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, making lasting memories full of joy and warmth. Her home, decorated with care and creativity, was a reflection of her vibrant personality, admired by all who visited.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Dawn lived a life of unwavering service to others. Her acts of kindness, big and small, were a beacon of her belief that love and faith in God were the cornerstones of a meaningful life. She had a special love for her cats and supported the SPCA, embodying a compassionate spirit for all living creatures.

Dawn leaves behind her sons, Dion Yanez and his wife, Heather, and Brock Yanez and his companion, Danielle Davis; her cherished grandchildren, De'nan Yanez and Korin Yanez; her nephew, Dane Smith; her niece, Whitney Seager; and a host of loving extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Smith-Bosley, whose memory she held close throughout her life.

A service to celebrate the life of Dawn will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA with Rev. Samuel Bosley officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Dawn's honor to Shrewsbury Gospel Temple, PO Box 193, Shrewsbury PA, 17361, continuing her legacy of faith and community.
