Obituary

Dolores Marie (Gladfelter) Baker, 83, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Charles Elsworth Baker, with whom she shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on February 2, 1943, in New Freedom, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon E. Gladfelter and Mildred D. (Horn) Gladfelter.

A graduate of West York High School, Dolores briefly worked as a beautician before being employed at Gichner Systems. However, her greatest calling was caring for her family as a devoted homemaker. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and from 1989 until 2005, she and her husband faithfully served as missionaries with New Tribes Mission in Senegal, West Africa, sharing the Gospel and ministering to others. She was a dedicated member of Red Lion Bible Church.

Blessed with a green thumb, she loved tending her flower gardens and spending time watching the many birds that visited her yard. She also enjoyed drawing and painting. Above all, she cherished her family, her faith, and the many friendships she made throughout her life.

In addition to her loving husband, Charles, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lee Baker and his wife, Debra; two granddaughters, Jessica C. Benton and her husband, Drew, and Rebecca M. Middlekamp and her husband, Eric; seven great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion, PA 17356, with Pastors Daniel Jessup and Steve Schmuck officiating. A visitation with the family will be held prior to the service and will begin at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
