Dolores E. (Livingston) Barley, 95 of Dallastown passed away peacefully at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing & Rehab on Friday, August 25th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Harry E. Barley who passed away May 23, 2010.
Born June 15, 1928 in Rye, she was a daughter of the late Edward A. and Ida A. (Daughtery) Livingston.
Mrs. Barley was a vry active member of S. John's Blymire's United Church of Christ in Dallastown and at one time sang in the choir and attended Sunday School. She loved to go to her family cabin in Landisburg, PA. She also enjoyed visiting the Green Dragon Market in Lancaster County, and cherished visiting her family members in Kentucky. Dolores was a 1946 graduate of Dallastown High School and loved attending Revolution baseball games. Her greatest joys included singing duets, and she loved attending church and hymn sings at Kennedy Valley Church of God. She worked at Martin-Parry, York Shipley, American Chain & Cable, as well as in the cafeteria at Dallastown High School.
Dolores is survived by three children: Bryan E. Barley and his wife, Christina of Red Lion, Beth B. Schrum and her husband, Scott of Dallastown and Beverly A. Troop (wife of the late Brian) of Red Lion; her brother, Robert Livingston of York; her nephew, Donald Livingston of York, as well as seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
As well as her husband, parents and son-in-law Brian, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
A funeral service to celebrate Dolores' life will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 30th at St. John's Blymire's United Church of Christ; 1009 Blymire Rd. in Dallastown with Rev. Rick Pulling officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining Blymire's Cemetery. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday, August 29th from 6-8 pm at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc.; 104 W. Main St. in Dallastown, and again on Wednesday morning at the church from 10am until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Blymire's United Church of Christ; 1009 Blymire Rd.; Dallastown, PA 17313.
