Obituary

Dolores Griffin, 73, of York, PA, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 5, 2025, at Inners Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dallastown, PA.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marjorie Baker, and her brother, Frank Baker. She grew up in Thomasville, NC, and later moved to Albany, GA, in the early 1980s. In her later years, she resided in York, PA.

She was a dedicated and hardworking woman, spending many years employed at Albany Area Primary Health Care, Wall Cataract and Eye Care Clinic, and Cobb's Little Acres in Albany, GA.

Above all, Dolores was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Norman (May) Griffin III of Powell, OH; Robert (Jennifer) Griffin of Smithville, GA; Mary Thomson of York, PA; and Joshua (Anna) Griffin of Albany, GA. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Dolores' radiant smile could light up any room. She found joy in serving others and was deeply devoted to her faith. Over the years, she loved being involved in her cherished home church, The Albany Gospel Chapel in Albany, GA, where she served in the nursery, Sunday school, and Awana Club. Her life was a testament to one of her favorite scriptures:

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." – Ephesians 4:32

Dolores touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

A Graveside Service and Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Mount Rose Cemetery (1502 Mount Rose Ave., York, PA 17403). Attendees are asked to gather at the cemetery's front entrance between 12:45-12:55 PM.
