Obituary

Donna M. Barshinger, 88, of Red Lion, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of Marlin E. Barshinger, until his passing in March of 2022.

Born in York on December 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ralph R. Null, Sr. and Arlene B. (Husson) Null.

A 1955 graduate of William Penn Senior High School, Donna worked at the Bon-Ton Department Store before starting her family. She then devoted many years to caring for her home and family as a dedicated homemaker. After her children were grown, she worked for The Salvation Army.

Donna enjoyed taking bus trips, attending yard sales, and visiting the senior center to play bingo. She had a great love for flowers and took pride in her flower gardens. An avid bowler, she participated in several bowling leagues throughout the years. Donna was a charter member of Farm Women Group #34 and served the organization as both president and secretary. She was also a long-time member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Janet A. Barshinger; four grandchildren, Tara Barshinger, Travis Barshinger, Trent Barshinger, and Treven Barshinger; and two great-grandchildren, Wrangler S. and Laken Barshinger.

In addition to her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Steven J. Barshinger; her brother, Ralph R. Null, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Crimson Barshinger.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 2650 Freysville Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Freysville Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff of Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Donna during her stay.
