Doreen Sue (Weitkamp) LaMotte, 81 of York Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13 ^th at Country Meadows – South. She was the beloved wife of the late James K. LaMotte. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage until his passing.

Mrs. LaMotte was born in Yoe, PA on March 21, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Elvin L. and Miriam F. (Snyder) Weitkamp.

Doreen was a graduate of Dallastown High School. Following high-school she worked at the York County Court House, holding several positions over 20 years and later went to work for Flinchbaugh-Olin as a purchasing secretary.  She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and attending musical performances and attended St. Paul's Methodist Church in Red Lion for many years. Doreen most recently resided at Country Meadows, but previously lived at Autumn House East for five years. During the last year she had many medical challenges to overcome.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy L. de la Rosa and her husband Lance, of Centerton, AR and her grandson, Carson de la Rosa of Centerton, AR. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Weitkamp. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Pat Weitkamp of York, and Dorcas Townsley of Ridgeland, SC, as well as 15 nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Doreen's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12 ^th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Tim Funk officiating. Interment to follow in Yoe Union Cemetery.
