Obituary

Doris Y. Keller, 96, of Red Lion, was called away peacefully and quietly on September 26, 2026, at York South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Preston L. Keller, Sr., with whom she shared 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2014.

Born on November 15, 1929, in Red Lion, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Ehrhart) Waltemyer. Doris graduated from Red Lion High School and worked at various jobs throughout the area during her lifetime.

Doris was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she especially enjoyed lending a hand in the kitchen whenever she was called upon to help.

One of Doris’s absolute favorite pastimes was doing laundry and hanging it outside to dry in the fresh air. She also cherished the holidays, when she could prepare a big meal and have her family gathered together to spend precious time with one another.

Doris is survived by her three daughters, Gayle K. Sanders and her husband, Don and Kathy L. Keller, both of York, and Lisa A. Wallace and her husband, Charles, of Florida; two grandsons, Brian J. Sanders and his wife, Jaymie, and Brock E. Wallace; and two great-grandsons, Devyn Sanders and Skylar Sanders.

In addition to her husband, Preston, she was preceded in death by her son, Preston L. Keller, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 West Main Street, Dallastown. A viewing will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Doris’s name be made to the charity of your choice or to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
