Doris M. (Hoffman) Sowers, 89, formerly of Dallastown, passed away peacefully at The Haven at Springwood, on Saturday, November 6 ^th .  She was the beloved wife of the late David C. "Jake" Sowers, Jr.

Mrs. Sowers was born in York on April 12, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Frank J. and LaDusca (Hamme) Hoffman.

Doris worked for Grove Sporting Goods as a bookkeeper and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Dallastown, The Golden Agers of Dallastown and the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing cards with the girls in the card club.  Doris loved spending time with her family and going on vacations with them and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Sandi Rudisill and her husband Steve, of York, Mark Sowers and his wife Vicki, of Flemington, WV, and Beth Stephens and her husband Craig, of Forest Hill, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shannon Bricker and her husband Eugene, Stacy Chronister and her husband Daniel, Jessica Stephens and Megan Stephens; and her great grandchildren, Logan, Kayleigh, and Isaac Chronister.

A funeral service to honor Doris' life will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, November 11 ^th at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313, with Pastors Patti Bream and Nathaniel Hedin-Schmidt officiating.  A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday and will begin at 12:30 PM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
