Obituary

Dorothy Marie Orwig Hostler, daughter of Clayton and Ellen (List) Orwig (both deceased).  Born in Kyleville, Pennsylvania (The Jack) on March 30, 1932.  Dorothy was married to Herbert Hostler (deceased May 7, 2011) for 61 years.  The couple was married on January 8, 1950 at Norrisville Church in Maryland.  She attended school in Bryansville, Collinsville, New Freedom and Cross Roads.  She was a member of the Ladies Eureka Fire Company, Stewartstown Senior Center, AARP, Easter Seals, St. Jude and a former member of St. John (Sadler's) Lutheran Church.

Dorothy had many siblings; Sisters – Margaret Harman (John), Mary Overmiller (Luther), Hazel and Brothers – Kenneth, Russel, Charles, Clayton and Franklin Orwig (all deceased).   Survived by sister, Betty Swartz.

Dorothy is survived by daughter, Carol Neal (Steve) and two sons, William Hostler, Sr. (Wendy) and Keith Hostler (Ellen).  Grandchildren - Anne Hostler (Ronnie), Stevie Neal (Tonya), Stephanie Lux, Billie Jo Hostler, Joseph Hostler (Sarah), William Hostler, Jr., Jenna Einsig (Mitch).  Great-grandchildren – Joshua Gillespie, Jennifer Ridolfi (Jon), Stephen Neal, Brooke Bosley, Kaleb, Noah, Logan and Bentley Hostler, Milton and Clayton Hostler, Ryker Gilley, Jacob Hostler and Rowan Einsig.  Great-great Grandchildren – Beau and Colt Ridolfi.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many, many great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. Also, survived by her gambling partner, Barb Muggio.

A special thank you to the passionate SpiriTrust Lutheran Team that cared for Dot.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 14th at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery entrance by 12:45 PM. Pastor Howard Edmondson will be conducting the service.

In lieu of flowers, Dorothy requested donations be made to the Stewartstown Senior Center or St. John's (Sadler's) Lutheran Church, Stewartstown, Pennsylvania in honor of Clayton, Ellen Orwig and Family.

Message from Dorothy:

I am Dot, Dottie, Queen Dorothy, Grandma, Great Grandma, Gran, Granny, Good Grandma, Dottie Pottie and I am sure many other names.  I worked at several York County sewing factories, canning companies, service stations, restaurants, cleaned homes, manager at Harris Bros. in Stewartstown, PA, AMP for almost 15 years and anywhere else I could find work to support my family.
