Dorothy "Dottie" E. (King) Runkle, 99, of York Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Runkle. The couple celebrated more than 70 years of marriage until his passing in 2013.

Dottie was born in Conewago, PA on November 23, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Lizzie (Knaub) King.

Dottie was a graduate of Manchester High School. She worked as a realtor for Watkins Realty. Following their careers, Dottie and her husband retired to Florida, then moved to South Carolina, and eventually returned to York County. She was also a member of York First Church of God.

She is survived by her two brothers, Frank King and Bill King; sister, Luella Noel; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Runkle, who passed away in 1962.

A graveside service to celebrate Dottie's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1674 Furnace Rd., Brogue, PA 17309, with Pastor Glenn Detter officiating.
