Obituary

Earl C. Shirey, Sr., 90 of Red Lion, passed away peacefully at ManorCare Health Services – South on Monday, January 4 th . He was the beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Hackett) Shirey.

Mr. Shirey was born in York on August 21, 1930 and was the son of the late Ervin F. and Grace (Winters) Shirey.

Earl worked in construction for Curtis M. Hoffman, Inc. He was a member of the York Association of the Deaf and enjoyed doing puzzles. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Earl C. Shirey, Jr., and wife, Kay, Kathy A. Aldinger and husband, Morgan, and Betsy J. Cunkleman and husband, Gary. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua and his wife, Connie, Travis and his wife, Bethany, and Rachel and her husband, John, as well as his great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Joshua Jr., Elliyanna, Gary, Harvey, and Koah. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Glen, William, Merle, Robert Shirey and Shirley Myers.

A service to honor Earl's life will be held privately by the family with burial to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
