Edwin C. Schmuck, 68, of York passed away on Friday, October 11th, 2024, at his home. He
was the loving husband of Joan A. (Burgard) Schmuck with whom he spent 20 loving years of
marriage.
Born on December 3rd, 1955, Edwin was the son of the late Charles E. Schmuck and Romaine
(Shenberger) Scott.
Edwin was a dedicated employee at BAE Systems, where he worked for 43 years in the
environmental department, EMS department and the receiving department. He had a passion
for playing golf, never missing an opportunity to be out on the greens. Myrtle Beach was a
popular vacation destination for Edwin, his trips there were cherished memories for him and his
family. In his spare time, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to car shows to see classic and
antique roadsters, and especially loved being out on the road on his BMW motorcycle.
Edwin is remembered as an avid sports fan, enjoying baseball particularly with a fondness for
the Yankees. He also supported the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics. In addition to these
interests, Edwin loved watching racing, especially Formula One, but he also enjoyed NASCAR
from time to time.
In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by one son, Chad Schmuck and wife Olivia; one
granddaughter Emma Grace Schmuck; two brothers Shannon Schmuck and wife Joanne, and
Brady Schmuck and wife Kim; as well as his longtime friend Kim Schmuck. He is also survived by
stepson Shannon Leppo and wife Elana; stepdaughter Amanda Hoover and husband Robert;
step grandchildren Audrey, Delillah, Kinley, Annie, Isaac, Seth, Macarios and Charlotte, all of
which he loved as his own. Edwin also had a never ending love for his three dogs Sparky,
Buster and Duke.
A memorial celebration for Mr. Schmuck will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday, November 3rd at
Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc. with the Chaplain John Michaels officiating. There will be a
time to share memories of Edwin and visit with the family from 2:00 pm until the start of the
service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Lifesong
Hospice & Palliative Care, the family would also like to extend their thanks and appreciation to
the staff for their care and support.
