Ellen Jane (Brown) Vanover, 85, of New Freedom, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2026.  She was the devoted wife of Harold R. Vanover for more than 61 years. Ellen was born on February 17, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late William E. and Mary E. (Taylor) Brown.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two siblings, sister, Christina E. Barnes and her husband Julian, and brother, David D. Brown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Evelyn M. Stoner and brother Gerald L. Brown.

Ellen was a faithful member of Red Lion Bible Church. She worked at Bernstine Sewing Factory, Glen Rock State Bank, and D.E. Jones.

A viewing for Ellen will be held from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM, on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356.  A funeral service will follow the viewing and will begin at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Steve Schmuck officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
