Obituary

Erin Elizabeth (Kern) Reeves, 40, of Dallastown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was the beloved wife of Dustin C. Reeves and a devoted mother to their two sons, Carter E. Reeves and Samuel T. Reeves.

Born in York on November 15, 1984, Erin was the cherished daughter of Michael A. and Janice (Godfrey) Kern. Erin had a deep love for children and spent much of her life caring for and nurturing them, working in several local daycares before joining the family business.

Erin's life was a testament to her strong, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Providence Church. She found great joy in praise and worship, Bible study, and teaching children in Sunday School. Erin had a passion for sharing her faith and was instrumental in introducing the Lord to her immediate family.  She was blessed to witness the baptisms of her husband and sons in the last year.  She lived out her faith boldly, never complaining, as she fought a courageous battle with cancer after her diagnosis in 2020.  Even through her most difficult moments, her belief in healing and God's promises never wavered, despite exhausting many different treatments.

Erin was easygoing, fun-loving, and forever a kid at heart. She delighted in simple joys—crafting, scrapbooking, puzzles, and playing games with her family. She cared deeply for her family and friends.  Erin enjoyed spending time with her sons, nieces, and nephews, especially cheering them on at sporting events. Her humorous expressions and infectious spirit brought smiles to everyone who knew her.

She enjoyed getting out of the house to "run around," and she especially treasured her time in nature—yearly family trips to Ocean City, NJ, camping and fishing adventures, and peaceful visits to the mountains in Potter County were among her favorite trips.

In addition to her husband and parents, Erin is survived by her sister, Jennifer L. Eldridge and her husband Scott G.; her brother, Ryan M. Kern and his wife Lacy E.; three nieces and three nephews; her maternal grandmother, Ruth Godfrey; and her paternal grandparents, Merle and Mary Anne Kern. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Godfrey.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 11 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at New Fairview Church, 1873 New Fairview Church Rd., York, PA 17403. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial in the church cemetery, followed by a meal for family and friends.
