Ethel O. (Roseberry) Meek, 93 of Red Lion., died on September 2 ^nd at her daughter Judy's house in Brogue, following a lengthy illness.  Judy and her husband John selflessly cared for her up until the day she died.

Mrs. Meek was born in Red Lion on February 26, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Elsie Mae (Tompkins) Roseberry. Her mother passed away when she was only two years old.

Ethel lived in Red Lion much of her early life and worked in a cigar factory.   She loved to go to dances, and that is where she met her husband, Milton Meek. They were married on March 1, 1947 and celebrated over 46 years of marriage until his passing on April 14, 1993.  Together they owned and operated Meek's Garage and Auto Salvage in Bridgeton for 27 years.  She helped inspect vehicles, grease cars, change brake linings, and whatever repairs she could do.

Ethel and Milton loved Florida and eventually bought a home there where they spent their winters following their retirement.  She continued spending winters there even after his death and through a Widow and Widowers club, met many close friends.  Ethel moved to Equine Meadows in 2001 and developed a circle of widowed ladies.  Together they would go bowling, out to restaurants, attend movies, played cards (especially 500), and generally shared many good times.

Ethel loved country music and enjoyed going to concerts with her daughter, Kay. She also enjoyed traveling to their mountain home and always looked forward to the "leaf peeping" trips every fall. She enjoyed her flowers and birds, especially hummingbirds and cardinals. She like to attend rodeos in Florida and like to watch bull riding and bowling on TV. Ethel loved sunrises and sunsets, especially those she saw while living in Florida.

She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Flaharty (John) of Brogue, and Kay Amberman (David) of Stewartstown; grandchildren, James Davis and fiancé Jodi Sample, Erin Faw (Jon), Jennifer Throne, Amanda Tento (Bertrand), Kara Flaharty, Michael Martin (Dottie), Steven Martin (Sherri), Troy Amberman (Jennifer), John Cicali (Veronica), Nori Yiantsellis and Nicholas Cicali, Jr.  She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Mayes (Barry) of Red Lion, Betty Gagnon, of Maine; sister-in-law Carol Roseberry of Red Lion;14 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Roseberry and Howard Lee Roseberry; sisters Linda Fake and Daisy Schnurr; stepdaughters, Gail Martin and Doris Cicali; and grandsons, Vincent Cicali and Mark Martin.

A service to honor Ethel's life will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 8 ^th at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Rev. Dr. Daniel R. Moore officiating.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
