Ethel N.
Minnich
Nov 14, 1930 — Jan 13, 2022
Red Lion
Ethel Naomi (Shaull) Minnich, 91, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 13, 2022, at Wellspan York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald (Pete) Minnich who died February 23, 2007. Pete and Ethel were married for 57 years.
Ethel was born on November 14, 1930, in Brogue, PA. She was the daughter of the late J. Oscar Shaull and the late Minnie Beatrice (Crawford) Shaull. She graduated from Red Lion High School and became a loving homemaker to her husband and six children. She worked hard on the family farm helping Pete in the fields or wherever she was needed along with her housekeeping chores.
Pete and Ethel were sextons of St. James the Apostle Lutheran Church for 18 years where they were life members. Ethel loved to sing and worship God. Her life was a witness of her love for God through her beautiful singing voice and playing the old Sunday School songs on the piano. The joy of her life was centered around church functions and serving the Lord through music and teaching Sunday school, working on committees, serving as sextons, and the precious gift from God of her family. Pete and Ethel were faithful witnesses of God and taught their children to love, serve and obey God also.
Ethel is survived by her children, Philip D. Minnich (Mary), Allan E. Minnich Sr (Christina), Donna K. Anderson (Rodney), Neil F. Minnich (Cindy), Joan B. Beck (Dean), Kandi J. Miller (David). Pete and Ethel were also blessed with 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Oscar Shaull and Minnie Beatrice (Crawford) Shaull, her sister Olga (Shaull) Eveler, brothers J. Robert Shaull, Lester (Pep) Shaull, an infant sister Mary C. Shaull, and James Shaull. Her brother Harold Shaull is the only remaining sibling of the family. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Susan (Yeaple) Minnich and her grandson Donald F. Minnich.
Ethel's prayer and hearts desire is for all her loved ones to trust and believe in our Lord Jesus Christ so they will join her in Heaven for all eternity. She is surely singing in God's choir in the sky.
On behalf of Pete and Ethel, the family would like to thank Dr. Dale Kresge, for his loving professional care of them and other family members. Ethel wanted to also thank Hospice & Community Care, the Mobile Lab, VNA Home Care and all the doctors and nurses at Wellspan York Hospital for their sacrificial loving care of her.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral which will be held at Ethel's church, St. James the Apostle Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Road on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, with her pastor, the Rev.
