Florence V. "Wheat" Godfrey, 89 of York passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Manor Care in Dallastown.

Born September 13, 1929 in York, she was a daughter of the late Harry R. and Mary E. (Myers) Godfrey.

Florence worked for Harley Davidson for 24 years before retiring.  Prior to that, she worked at Bendix for 15 years.  She also previously worked for her father for 20 years at Godfrey's Butcher Shop in Red Lion.

She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Florence Godfrey will be held on Saturday, September 22 ^nd at 11am at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home; 104 W. Main St., Dallastown.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Codorus Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
