Floyd "Joe" Ward, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and family on Sunday, June 14th, 2026.

Born on October 18, 1958, Floyd graduated from Cradock High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. He later enjoyed a long career with YGS before retiring.

Floyd was a long-time member of the Pentecostals of York, where he deeply valued his church family, pastors, and community, and found strength and fellowship in his faith throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Marvin Ward I and Mary Elizabeth (Weaver) Ward; and his son, Floyd Ward II.

He is survived by his wife Erika Ward, whom he married on April 23, 2006; his sisters, Ellouise Atchison, Natalie Purnell (Wayne), and Mary Galbrach (Gene); his brother, Samuel Ward II; and his loving children, Paula Sees (Kasey), Ericka Stewart (Caleb), Katherine Tipton (Jaron), Ricky Puga, Adam Denny (Melissa), Brian Denny, and Charles Denny; and his thirteen grandchildren: Scarlett, Levi, Isabella, Hazel, Sally, Sofia, Jaron Jr., Elizabeth, Lucille, Francesca, Dakota, Kyle, and Brittany, and great-grandchild, Jasper.

A funeral service to celebrate Floyd's life will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Pentecostals of York, 3920 Farm Dr, York, PA 17402 with Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the start of the service. Interment will be held privately.

Floyd treasured his family above all else. He found joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
