Gene retired from Teledyne McKay in 1993. Gene was a lifelong member of Spry Church where he answered the call to serve as a teacher, treasurer, trustee, and building committee member.

He was preceded in death by siblings: Millicent Foust Wambaugh, Paul Foust, Jr. and Vivian Foust Fitzkee, and his sister-in-law, Thelma Wambaugh Foust.
