Obituary

George F. Scott, 67, of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, June 12, 2026. He was the beloved fiancé of Debra R. Gangewere.

Born on August 2, 1958, in York, he was the son of the late Harry L. Scott and Erma M. (Emenheiser) Scott.

George attended Red Lion High School and graduated from Cocalico High School. He furthered his education through HACC, where he earned his Level II CNC Programming Certification. Throughout his career, he worked as a CNC Setup Man for General Dynamics, Flinchbaugh Engineering, and most recently, Cutting Edge Machining.

George was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Steelers fan who enjoyed taking drives, spending time with his family, and caring for his beloved dogs. He also dedicated his time to helping others by volunteering with New Hope Ministries and the local food bank.

In addition to his fiancée, Debra, George is survived by his two sons, Ryan M. Scott and his wife, Megan, and Justin R. Scott and his wife, Tiffany; his grandchildren, Ianna Munchel, Catelyn Munchel, Kyree Peterson, Madelyn Scott, Emma Scott, Connor Scott, Kyra Platts, and Kameron Platts; three great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mike Scott, Debbie McKinsey, Brenda Snyder, and John Scott.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Scott.

A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main Street, Dallastown. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Heath Manalli officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Red Lion.
