After 75 years with us, "Jerry" received his wings on December 16 at Manor Care – Dallastown.

Jerry was born in York on November 9, 1942, and lived in Brogue until he met his wife, Sarah (Sally) E. Tome. Jerry & Sally were married 51 years and raised their family in Yoe.

He was active in The Fish and Game Land Club and spent the majority of his free time plotting a way to escape to the country and roam around the woods and streams and his garden.

After retiring from Yale Industries, Jerry stayed active with gardening, cutting wood, mowing and taking care of his wife. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

"Pap" is survived by his children, Dennis Shirey & Kirsten Fix, Lisa & David Reinohl, Teena Terry, Tracy & Kimberly Tome, Tim & Paula Tome; 13 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Nelson (Joyce), Alvin (Caddie), Ed (Mary), & Vic; sisters, Geraldine (Rick) & Gertrude and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Sarah E. Tome; parents, Austin & Dorothy; brothers, Eugene & George; sister, Helen; and son-in-law, Michael Terry.

A funeral service to honor Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 22 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday and will begin at 1:00 PM until the start of the services.  Interment will follow in Yoe Union Cemetery.

Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Jerry's life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory would be quite appropriate. Memorial contributions in Gerald's name may be made to Alzheimer's/Dementia Association at www.alz.org .
