Geraldine (Myers) Keener, 90, passed away on March 1 ^st at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Dallastown). She was the beloved wife of the late Carl E. Keener. The couple were married for 60 years until his passing in 2015.

Mrs. Keener was born in Jefferson, PA on November 29, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Kessler) Myers.

Geraldine worked as a seamstress for local garment companies. She was a devoted member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus, where she donated her time and talents and sewed for the Cover Girls. Besides sewing, Geraldine enjoyed doing puzzles, quilting and was known as an amazing cook and baker. Above all things she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia A. Hornberger and her husband, Richard, of Dallastown; two grandsons, Richard C. Hornberger and his wife, Rebecca, of Mechanicsburg, and Daniel T. Hornberger and his wife, Amber, of Seven Valleys. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Evelyn, Emma, William and Wesley; siblings, Mae Behler, Mervin Myers, Joyce Kessler, and Jack Myers, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Eloise Myers, Grace Moul, and Lottie Trone, and a brother, Gordon Myers.

A funeral service to honor Geraldine's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 4 ^th at Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Rd., Jacobus, PA 17407, with Pastor Tina Minnich officiating. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Salem Union Cemetery.
