Gloria I. Abernethy Strine, 79 of Lower Windsor Twp., passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis J. Strine.

Gloria was born in York on December 9, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Theon Grace.

Gloria was a graduate of Kennard-Dale High School. She worked as a nursing assistant at York Hospital for most of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Markle and her husband Rick; stepdaughters, Lisa Ponton and Tina Strine; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by five siblings, Mildred Smeltzer, Betty Black, Shirley Kline, Donald Grove and Wanda Washburn, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by five siblings, Glen Grove, Yvonne Robinson, Brenda Grove, Charlene Keener, and Marion Warner.

A service to honor Gloria's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday and will begin at 5:00 -7:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment will be private.
