Gregory J. Eck, 88 of York, passed away peacefully at York Hospital on Friday, October 20. He was the husband of the late Mary (Baeckel) Eck.
Mr. Eck was born in Dallastown on June 24, 1929 and was the son of the late Thomas and Bernadine (Lawrence) Eck.
Greg worked as a HVAC technician and retired from Worden and Shewell. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the York-Aires barbershop quartet that entertained audiences across the US and Canada, as well as a longtime member of the York White Rose Chorus. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Dallastown. He also enjoyed wood working and carving.
He is survived by his son, Dave Eck; granddaughter, Chrissy Ramirez and a great granddaughter, Layla Ramirez. He was one of fourteen children and is survived by a sister, Emily Hoover and a brother, Dick Eck.
Following cremation, a memorial Mass to honor Greg's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 30 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown. A visitation with the family will be held at the church on Monday and will begin at 10:30 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Dallastown Union Cemetery.
