Helen M. (Fake) Badders, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Dallastown Nursing Center, surrounded by loved ones. She was the cherished wife of the late Jack L. Badders, and their enduring love remains a source of inspiration to all who knew them.

Born on November 11, 1933, in Brogue, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Harry C. and Margaret E. (Keefer) Fake. A true matriarch, she was the oldest of ten siblings, and throughout her life, she embodied strength, compassion, and a deep sense of family loyalty. She leaves behind her two loving sisters, Phyllis Fike (the late Walter) and Janet Ducan (Harry), and her brother, Rick Fake (Mary), along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Helen's love for life was reflected in everything she did. She had a lifelong passion for cooking, a talent that brought joy to many. She served as a cook for York Township, and later retired from Manor Care in Dallastown, where she continued to share her gift with others. In addition, Helen and her late husband, Jack, co-owned the Yankee Café and Bar, where she warmly welcomed customers with a smile and a delicious meal. After retiring, Helen's passion for cooking and helping others led her to become the manager and cook for the Dallastown American Legion Post #605. She also was an active member of the Viking and Victory Clubs, as well as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Dallastown.

Helen's heart was also deeply committed to veterans and their causes. She was a steadfast advocate for those who served, and her efforts to support them will never be forgotten. Outside of her love for cooking and community service, Helen had an infectious zest for life. She loved watching baseball, especially the Little League World Series, and enjoyed the thrill of bingo and the excitement of casino games.

Helen will always be remembered for her selflessness, her unwavering love for her family, and her generous spirit. Her family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to organizations close to her heart: the York County SPCA, York County Blind Center, the American Cancer Society, or the Dallastown American Legion Post #605.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with another viewing on Wednesday, December 18, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, led by Pastor Patti Bream. Interment will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Helen's legacy of kindness, devotion, and love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
