Herman F. Strausbaugh, 98, of Springettsbury Twp., passed away on January 15, 2023 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine (Ryer) Strausbaugh.

Mr. Strausbaugh was born in Seven Valleys on August 8, 1924 and was the son of the late John and Isabelle (Knadig) Strausbaugh.

Herman was the owner and operator of Strausbaugh Garage, where he repaired and rebuilt Volkswagens since 1946.  His love for VWs led him to be affectionately known locally as "The Bug Man." Herman was a member of the Garageman's Association and Knights of St. Paul. He loved boating, square dancing and traveling, and was a member of the Colonial Traveler and GMC International, both of which were motor home groups.

He is survived by his son, John Michael Fry and his wife, Sandra Jean; grandson, John Fry, Jr. and his wife Maria; great grandsons, Kayle Fry and Michael Fry and his wife Ylexa and his great- great grandchildren, Gabriella and Jaxon Fry. He is also survived by a brother, John Strausbaugh.  In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Cletus, Joseph and Austin Strausbaugh.

A viewing for Herman will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and will begin at 11:00 AM, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, with Fr. Mark Weiss officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
