Obituary

Idamae (Smith) Stine, 97, formerly of New Park, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16 at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Shrewsbury. She was the beloved wife of the late James A. Stine, who passed away in 1983.

Mrs. Stine was born in York on February 28, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida G. (Kaltrieder) Smith.

Idamae was a 1939 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She was a devoted farm wife and mother. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion and an active member of the Farm Women's Group in Stewartstown. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved to cook and bake, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Sprenkle (Dale) and Jane Amspacher (Stephen); four grandchildren, Jamie Amspacher (Alana), Jason Amspacher (Lindsey), Sara Sprenkle (Frank), and Jessica Sprenkle (Andre) as well as her four great grandchildren, Zachary, Marshall, Jordan and Lila Amspacher. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Stabley and Blanche Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Idamae's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 20 at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. David Tietje officiating.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Shrewsbury for the care and compassion they gave Idamae during her stay.
