James D. Frey, 73, of Airville, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Peggy Lynn (Fletcher) Frey. The couple was married for more than 46 years.

Mr. Frey was born in Lancaster on July 22, 1950 and was the son of the late Roy G. and Helen S. (Byers) Frey.

Jim was a 1968 graduate of Eastern York High School. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for ACCO for 33 years until its closing. He then obtained his CDL and worked for PennDot until his retirement.  Jim was a longtime member of Red Lion Bible Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amber Heller and her husband Darren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Frey and his wife Cindy, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor Jim's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356, with Pastor Steve A. Schmuck officiating.  A visitation with the family will be held at the church on Saturday, and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
